It's been a blast as always - Amias Burrows
When you’ve got a memory like mine, figuring out a highlight is difficult. I’ve loved working on all of the projects that have come across my desk this year.
a particular highlight from this year being the development of the Projekt Renewable website as well as bringing The Choowee Cookie Company’s new e-commerce site to life.
This year I’ve learnt even more than the previous year, and there’s absolutely no end in sight when it comes to the potential to learn more! For me, 2025 will be all about discovery. I’m going to start with Shopify, after needing to delve deeper into Liquid (the language themes are written in). I’ve managed to learn how to utilise it to make a site its own; that was a big learning curve as it’s different to other languages I’ve worked with before.
This year, I’ve also been able to extend my knowledge of Google analytics and the entire ecosystem surrounding that. This includes setting up sites that work, hand-in-hand with these tools and being able to delve deeper into the actual results and understanding what I’m looking at. This has always been a bit of a black hole in my knowledge and one I’ve been wanting to fill.
For the year ahead, a fairly techy wish from me, but I’d love to be able to move our site development to a more code dependent system. What do I me? Well, adopting more modern development practices will help us manage our website code better, which ultimately gives our clients more control and ease of use when it comes to managing their site. How? Well, moving to working in this way will not only speed up sites but it will offer website editors and clients more control when it comes to creating content but within the parameters we provide, meaning any brand guidelines or design stipulations that need to exist for consistency will remain
