A bold new identity for The East Midlands Bricks Awards
Presenting… the new visual identity we very proudly had a hand in creating for The East Midlands Bricks Awards. With the event entering its 11th year of celebrating the region’s property and construction industry, the time had come for a sharper, more contemporary look…while staying rooted in what the Bricks Awards stand for, of course.
Excellence, ambition, and recognition across the built environment - values which sit at the heart of the Awards - have all played a part in shaping the new identity, with the flower-inspired logo mark formed from five bricks. Positioned to create a five-pointed star, the mark reflects both the physical materials of the industry and the achievements of the businesses, projects, and people the awards exist to celebrate.
As for the colour palette, well, the slate grey inspired by the industry has been paired with warm, energetic high-vis orange and yellow - a deliberate nod to the sector, while giving the brand a distinctive, confident, and memorable look.
For us, the refresh was about more than creating a new logo. It was about helping the East Midlands Bricks Awards communicate its continued relevance, energy, and role in championing a sector that is constantly evolving. A sector that we love and value.
As the property and construction industry embraces new ideas, technologies, and more sustainable ways of building, the awards needed an identity that could move with it. The new look reflects that sense of progress while continuing to honour the people and businesses shaping the region’s future.
Our Alex said: “The East Midlands is leading the way in its approach to the present and future of the built environment and, having been involved with the Bricks Awards for the past couple of years, our extended team has really enjoyed developing a new visual identity for a brand that sits at the heart of celebrating sustainable development.
“We’ve experienced first-hand how important people and the planet are to so many of the businesses that are recognised at the Bricks Awards, so we’re looking forward to seeing the new identity align with successful brands across the region for many years to come.”
Tess Egginton, Editor at Business Link Magazine Group, the organisers of the East Midlands Bricks Awards, said: “As the property and construction industry continues to evolve, embrace new ideas, technologies, and more sustainable ways of building, it felt right that the East Midlands Bricks Awards brand should evolve too.
“Our revitalised logo is so much more than a new look; it represents the energy, resilience, and progress that define the sector today. It mirrors the vision and excellence we celebrate through these awards. This is a logo that honours the ethos of the Bricks, recognising and rewarding the ambition of the businesses, people and developments shaping the landscape of our region for future generations.”
