The Learnings of Lucy Lyle
If you can believe it, Lucy’s month at KW has flown by and this week saw her final day of work experience take place in the office.
Lucy’s journey into the world of marketing agency life began four weeks ago, coming to us from Bishop Burton College where she is studying Art and Design. Having voiced her preference for creative projects we made sure to task our budding with plenty of those, as well as give her time with each of the team to learn more about what they do in their own niche areas of expertise and see how the agency puzzle fits together.
The big question is, how did she find it? Let’s find out…
“The team at Knapton Wright has made me feel so welcome over the last four weeks. They’ve spent so much time involving me in the projects they are working on, it’s been so interesting.
“The time I’ve spent in this creative corner of Caistor has helped me to understand what types of jobs I could get into that involve art and design but I’ve also been made aware of PR, copywriting, digital marketing and social media design and coding for websites while I have been here. I have enjoyed being immersed in all the different aspects a marketing company works across.
“It has been interesting to use the Knapton Wright brand guide too, to create designs for the team because it is something that I have never done before. Having a brand guideline to work from was incredibly helpful, not only making the design look more professional but also making the brief much easier to achieve.
“Something I found interesting was watching the behind-the-scenes of things like how a website is built and all the copywriting that goes into it. Being at Knapton Wright has helped me to understand what other types of jobs I could do that involve art and design.
“At the end of my time at the agency, I definitely feel like I have a better understanding of what kind of work happens on a day-to-day basis. I really enjoyed the design side of agency life and found coding for web design interesting too.”
